Automotive Sales Associate Job Responsibilities


Greet customers promptly and professionally
Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate vehicles
Present vehicle features, pricing, and financing options clearly
Conduct test drives and vehicle walk‑arounds
Follow up with customers to build long-term relationships
Work closely with management, finance, and support staff
Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals
Maintain accurate customer information and documentation


 

Automotive Sales Associate Compensation and Benefits

The Sales Associate (Retail) position is paid on a pay scale that may include one or more of the following compensation elements:


Hourly compensation, which varies based on experience, role level, and performance
Commission compensation, which may be earned based on the value or amount of closed vehicle sales
Commission compensation may be $0.00 if no sales are made, with no fixed upper limit other than sales performance


The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $16.90 to $51.00 per hour. Actual compensation within this range will be determined by job‑related factors such as experience, qualifications, performance, and business needs. Commission compensation is not guaranteed.

QualificationsAutomotive Sales Associate Qualifications


Prior sales or customer service experience preferred (automotive a plus, not required)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Desire to learn and grow within the automotive industry


Corporate Hiring Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background check and drug screening.
