Senior COBOL Team Lead with French

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior COBOL Developer – Team Lead to join a large-scale enterprise project involving the development, maintenance, and evolution of mission-critical mainframe applications.
In this role, you will combine hands-on technical work with team leadership responsibilities, acting as the main technical reference point for the team and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of COBOL Developers, providing technical guidance and mentorship

• Remain hands-on in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of COBOL-based applications

• Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions

• Ensure code quality, stability, and compliance with development standards

• Support production issues, bug fixing, and performance optimizations

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders and project teams

• Participate in technical design discussions and architectural decisions

• Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices within the team

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience as a Senior COBOL Developer in enterprise/mainframe environments

• Proven experience in a technical leadership or Team Lead role

• Solid understanding of mainframe architectures and legacy systems

• Experience with Pacbase is a strong plus (training can be provided if needed)

• Ability to work independently on complex systems while guiding a team

• Experience with maintenance, enhancement, and production support activities

Language Requirements

• Fluent French – mandatory (both spoken and written)

• English – professional working proficiency

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience in application modernization or system evolution projects

• Exposure to structured development methodologies

• Strong documentation and knowledge transfer skills
