The Machine Learning Department (MLD) is a leading hub for research and education in artificial intelligence and machine learning. It focuses on developing innovative algorithms and models to address complex problems in diverse fields such as robotics, healthcare, and finance. The department offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, fostering a collaborative environment that bridges theoretical research and practical applications. Faculty and students frequently collaborate with industry and other academic disciplines to push the boundaries of what is possible with machine learning.

We are seeking an Education Associate. This position will aid in the creation and delivery of material for undergraduate or graduate courses in mathematics, computer science and data science.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist with educational technology
  • Course administration (booking rooms, compiling grades, etc.)
  • Grade student assignments and exams
  • Hold recitations and office hours; monitor discussion boards and answer student questions; mentor students
  • Help with the design and preparation of instructional materials such as class notes, slides, video lectures, and interactive student activities
  • Create and build assignment and exam problems
  • Manage and direct the activities of TAs and/or graders
  • Organize poster sessions for student courses
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong experience in mathematics
  • Familiarity with computer science as well as data science
  • Experience in teaching or serving as a teaching assistant is valuable
  • A combination of education and meaningful experience from which comparable knowledge is proven may be considered.
