Position Title:
Hourly YouthCity Program Instructor IIJob Description:
Salt Lake City is looking for Hourly YouthCity Program Instructor's to provide supervision for elementary and middle school aged school-aged youth and the implementation of YouthCity program goals.This position will support our YouthCity Afterschool Program which will operate through the 2026-2027 school year. Once hired staff may select to continue employment for the 2027 YouthCity summer program.
About the Position:
This role requires teaching in an out-of-school-time setting, program implementation, communication with program staff, data collection and developing strategies to meet and exceed all organizational goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a High School graduate or equivalent and be at least 21 years of age. Experience working with school-aged children, middle school age teens, and/or other related experience is preferred.
About the Team:
We are hiring staff to work at all YouthCity locations. Teams of Instructors report to a full-time Senior Community Programs Manager who oversees each location.
Work Schedule:
This position will work 25 hours a week. During the school year, the work hours are Monday – Thursday from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday from Noon – 6:00 p.m. During the Summer Program, this position will work 5 hour blocks Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. depending on program necessity.
Position Wage: $19.00/hr.

Key Responsibilities:
Safely transports youth to various program activities within the City.
Provide supervision to youth engaged in program activities.
Maintain attendance records as required by program.
Assist with program’s grant required assessments to ensure program quality metrics are met.
Develop and plan weekly activities based on learning objectives as outlined by YouthCity programs. Teach group activities to youth. Participate in all activities with children.
Follow program procedures to safeguard health, safety, and well-being of participants.
Prepare, clean up, and maintain facility daily.
Assist in providing daily snacks.
Attend weekly staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled. Participate in one-on-one professional development meetings with Senior Community Program Managers. Provide a safe/healthy environment for program participants. Maintains and inspects city vehicles according to required pre-trip inspections. Perform all other duties requested.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent and at least 21 years of age.
