WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
The purpose of this role, Senior Manager of Sustainability Operations, is to lead the integration of sustainability into all business decisions across the global Sustainable Operations organization. You will drive the development of sustainability competence and requirements, embedding them in key roles and strategies to ensure sustainability is elevated on par with cost and quality in every decision we make. You will build additional internal KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track sustainability performance. You will ensure prioritization and support the implementation of actions and projects within key functions to ensure sustainability targets are met.
Here’s the main elements of the role...
- Embed sustainability into key decision-making forums, ensuring it is considered alongside cost and quality.
- Guide the development of strategy and roadmaps for Sustainable Operations, including factories, co-manufacturing, sourcing, planning, and logistics.
- Build sustainability competence and accountability into key roles within Sustainable Operations.
- Develop systems to measure and track progress toward supply chain sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sustainability Analysis and Reporting to ensure accurate progress tracking and annual reporting.
- Partner with regional teams to translate global strategies into local operations.
- Provide technical guidance on sustainability best practices, tools, and technologies.
- Stay informed and engaged with emerging practices in decarbonization, renewable energy, and sustainable operations.
- Monitor relevant legislation and trends related to decarbonization and renewable energy.
- Support Communications and Creative teams in articulating Oatly’s sustainability values.
- Operate as part of the Global Sustainability team, fostering cross-functional collaboration.

In this role, you will hold a temporary position from December 1st to August 31st, covering for our current Senior Manager of Sustainability. The position can be based in either Malmö or Stockholm, and some travel may be required.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE
We are looking for you who have:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong technical understanding of sustainable practices in energy, transportation, water, and waste—ideally within food and beverage manufacturing.
- Proven experience in measuring and monitoring environmental metrics (e.g., CO₂e, energy, water, waste).
- Experience in optimizing manufacturing systems and a solid technical understanding of renewable energy generation.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with a strategic mindset, a practical approach, and strong communication and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in stakeholder management, including regular interaction with senior leadership.
- Preferred: Certification in energy management, procurement, engineering, or a related discipline.
