This is an onsite job, based in Chicago, Illinois, Tukwila, WA or Commerce, CA.
Job Summary: The Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for developing and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure that an organization can continue to operate in the event of a disaster. They work with various departments to identify critical business functions and develop strategies to minimize disruptions. They also oversee the testing and maintenance of these plans to ensure that they remain effective.
The ideal candidate is responsible for managing the design, implementation, and communication of business continuance and disaster recovery plans and processes that ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. They conduct risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption. They also monitor and test the plans and back up systems, manage the contracts with required vendors for off-site and other resources required for business continuation and recovery, and develop and deploy training, documentation, and communication of disaster procedures to the organization, developing service level recovery standards and agreements with vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Identify critical business functions and develop strategies to minimize disruptions.
- Oversee the testing and maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure that business continuity and disaster recovery plans remain effective.
- Work with various departments to ensure that business continuity and disaster recovery plans are aligned with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners.
- Provide training and support to employees on business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to business continuity and disaster recovery.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual English-Spanish
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with regulatory requirements related to business continuity and disaster recovery.
