Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. Want to be on the cutting edge of technology and support the Nation’s Defense?  The Navy Joint TACAIR RIL program is seeking a RF Test Engineer to join their team in San Diego, CA.

This program involves research, innovation, and transition of tactical communications capabilities for US and select Partner Nations to enhance battlespace awareness and improve lethality of our warfighters. You will be working alongside R&D organizations, academia, and industry partners to evaluate promising new technologies regarding emerging Tactical Datalink technologies.

General Duties or Experience:

• Conduct systems / system of systems (SoS) architecture design, testing, implementation, integration, review, and certification activities.
• Conduct data analyses, to include interpreting and summarizing results
• Design, develop, test, evaluate, and sustain various Radio Frequency (RF) and Tactical Data Link (TDL) communication systems
• Develop technical documentation such as test plans and reports
• Apply a full range of disciplines pertinent to communication systems capabilities such as requirements analysis, systems engineering, interface design, logistics, training, reliability and maintainability, human factors, and T&E to complete assigned duties
• Leverage principles such as communications theory, modulation systems, engineering design, testing, and system-level communications (e.g. link budgets and modulation schemes and end-to-end RF product development) to complete assigned duties

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• 3+ years of demonstrated Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience supporting programs and projects through the various acquisition milestones and testing phases (designing, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting).
• Knowledge of RF Communications systems engineering and/or integration
• Radio Frequency (RF) and Tactical Data Link (TDL) communication systems
• Experience or demonstrated Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience preparing, maintaining, updating and reviewing the full range of test and test-related documentation for adequacy, specification/performance requirements compliance, conformity with mandatory guidance.
• Knowledge of electronic test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Amplifiers, and other Radio Frequency components
• Security+
• Secret clearance; must be able to get TS/SCI

Desired:

• Experience with open architecture constructs like Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA), Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C5ISR)/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS), Open Mission Systems (OMS), Open Communication Standard (OCS); utilizing the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI).
• Experience with LPD (Low Probability of Detection) and LPI (Low Probability of Intercept) waveforms and anti-jam capabilities communication capabilities.

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
