Position Summary:

 

Schafer Industries is currently seeking a 2nd shift CNC Aerospace Lathe Machinist for its Schafer Gear Works operation in Roscoe, IL.  Currently offering $1,000 sign on Bonus, Walk-In Interviews welcome.

 

Position Salary Range:

 

Pay Range $25 - $35 per hour

Job Summary:

 

Set-up and troubleshoot multi-axis (dual spindle / dual turret) CNC turn / mill centers to exact dimensional and finish requirements for the products. Review and edit CNC programs as necessary for quick and successful completion of setup of these CNC machines. Participate in the Engineering Department efforts on launch of new products and major process changes.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

Operate assigned machinery to fabricate parts to the required specifications by:

  • Reading work orders and specification sheets.
  • Properly powering up and down the machine.
  • Loading and unloading parts.
  • Ensuring proper tooling for each machine.
  • Creating and sizing jaws on the machine.
  • Changing chucking devices when necessary.
  • Recognizing insert and tool geometry.
  • Making offset adjustments for size. 

 

Ensures all parts are to the required specifications by:

  • Reading blueprints, operation drawings, manuals, and specifications       to determine dimensions and tolerances of
