Position Overview: Early Childhood Educator (ECFE) - Community Services Department
Hours/Day: Vary
Days/Year: 184
Compensation/benefits: Per BEA Agreement

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Implement effective, inclusive practices that promote equity for all families
  • Build strong, positive relationships through intentional adult-child interactions
  • Create a stimulating, safe, and secure environment that supports play-based learning and exploration
  • Plan and implement research-based curriculum aligned with the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress
  • Deliver culturally responsive and relevant learning experiences
  • Collect authentic observation and assessment data through child-led play
  • Foster and support meaningful family engagement in early childhood settings
  • Supervise and guide the work of support staff in the classroom


Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Life Education, Child Development, or a related field
  • Current Minnesota Early Childhood Education teaching license (required)
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse families and young children
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally relevant teaching practices
