Automotive Mechanic

The Automotive Mechanic position will work hands-on to install, diagnose and repair multiple types of heavy-duty semi-trucks, semi-trailers, pick-ups, cars, forklifts, and other mechanical equipment.

This role is housed at our Lebanon, MO Transportation facility.

Job Description

• Clean and maintain facility daily as set forth in housekeeping guidelines.
• Repair and/or replacing tires on all ITD FMCSA regulated vehicle.
• Repair and maintain various trailers, truck and other FMCSA regulated equipment owned and operated by ITD.
• Work with the shop supervisor to prevent equipment failure through preventative maintenance.
• Follow guidelines set forth by FMCSA pertaining to inspection, repair and maintenance of all vehicles.

Position Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
• Must be able to physically lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to perform standard math.
• Must be able to use a tape measure and other measuring tools/methods.
• Must be able to stand or be on feet for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work on site 40 hours per week and overtime as required.
• Need a working mechanical knowledge of all equipment maintained and operated by ITD.
• Need a working knowledge of all tools needed to perform services and Maintenace on ITD equipment.
• 2 years of mechanic experience with semi-trucks, trailers, hydraulics and industrial equipment preferred.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
