Director of Finance

Clearbit is seeking an exceptional Director of Finance to serve as a crucial member of our leadership team. This role is one of the most senior IC roles in the business and while we intend to grow the team in the future, our ideal candidate is someone who is energized by not having a large team to manage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and refine the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with our financial objectives as we scale.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to provide insights, identify risks and opportunities, inform decision-making, and influence strategy.
• Support long-term planning with a comprehensive financial model, integrating key operating, financial, and other metrics aligned with our strategic plan.
• Drive departmental annual planning, monthly forecasting, and risk and opportunity identification.
• Establish efficient processes to enhance financial rigor, enable more in-depth analysis, and facilitate nimble adjustments within our dynamic company.
• Cultivate a high-performance culture that produces precise and insightful financial plans, insights, and forecasts.
• Lead strategic projects and provide ad hoc research and analysis support to senior leadership.

Key Qualifications:

• 8+ years of progressive experience related to FP&A, corporate development, financial modeling, analysis, or strategy.
• Proven track record of managing the financial planning process across a company.
• Experience in SMB-MM SaaS businesses (<500 employees) within the last 5 years or demonstrable capability to excel in a startup environment.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate financial analytics clearly and provide insightful recommendations.
• Strong leadership skills with a history of building, leading, and inspiring high-performing teams.
• Meticulous attention to detail, a strong ownership ethic, and a focus on accuracy and accountability.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, analytical, problem-solving, and system skills.

Key Capabilities:

• Expertise in SaaS financial models, including subscription, consumption pricing model.
• Exceptional customer focus and an ability to forge close relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Demonstrable success in a deadline-driven, multitasking environment.
• An inherent drive to exceed expectations.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets, and experience with external modeling tools such as Adaptive or Anaplan.
