Senior QA Engineer

CoinDesk is looking for a Senior QA Engineer with 5+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience who is excited to help us improve our test automation practices.  We are looking for a self-motivated, senior individual contributor who is looking to identify opportunities for improvement in our existing processes and mentor junior QA staff to achieve results. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this person will be responsible for developing objectives and strategy for the QA team, and leading process and automation improvements.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior QA Engineer will work in a team environment including product managers, software engineers, and other quality assurance team members to deliver improvements and new features to the CoinDesk.com website, and to deliver improvements to the CoinDesk CMS to improve editorial workflow and content metadata. Experience with consumer and/or media website testing is a plus.

 

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent and 5 to 7 years of relevant project experience is required; Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• At least 5+ yrs quality assurance experience in Agile Development environments
• Familiarity with Agile Software Development Methodologies
• Minimum 3+ yrs experience with automated testing tools or equivalent automation skills
• Experience with one or more programming languages used in test automation (Python or alternative) 
• Experience with web-based application testing  (minimum 3+ yr)
• Experience with integration testing between applications (minimum 3+ yr)
• Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, draws valid conclusions, and provides solutions
• Identifies, communicates, and escalates issues as required
• A team player and self-starter who will work side by side with the development team
• Ability to prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough working knowledge of software testing methodologies and the testing life-cycle; ability to implement best in class practices as well as educate on such
• Industry experience with Media or B2C websites
• Experience with performance and load testing
• Desire to learn new skills and a curiosity to understand who things work

 

 

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000. This range is not inclusive of any potential bonus amounts. Factors that may impact the agreed upon base salary for a particular candidate include years of experience, skill set, and other external factors.
