Roles & Responsibilities: 

The Mount Sinai Selikoff Centers for Occupational Health are dedicated to providing cutting-edge clinical services with a focus on prevention to keep workers healthy and their workplaces safe. Our multidisciplinary health care team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, industrial hygienists, ergonomists, social workers, workers’ compensation and benefits specialists who provide comprehensive patient-centered services.

We diagnose and treat occupational diseases, evaluate the work conditions of our patients to determine whether other co-workers may be at risk, and suggest measures to improve work environments. Identification of workplace hazards can be used to prevent occupational diseases through training and education of workers and their employers, along with establishing effective workplace interventions.

Building on a long tradition of caring for injured and ill workers through the Selikoff Centers for Occupational Health, Mount Sinai is home to the largest WTC Health Program Clinical Center of Excellence (CCE) in the NY/NJ region.

The Clinical Manager will oversee clinical operations at the Selikoff Centers for Occupational Heath’s Suffern, New York Location. The Clinical Manager will also be responsible for the management of nursing practice and operations on a designated unit/services. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical records, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements. The Nurse Manager collaborates with multiple professionals to support and coordinate the provision / management of patient care. He or she works closely with the Nursing Clinical Director, unit Dyad partner and staff in insuring that the Service/Unit maintains the highest standards of patient care and is responsive to the needs of the patient & family as well as the organization. 

  • Oversees clinical, administrative and, as appropriate, program development in assigned area.
  • Program development, engaging other members of the clinical and administrative team.
  • Program accreditation/certification and updating program based on current rules/regulations.
  • Handle financial/insurance issues and solving problems associated with these issues.
  • Periodic review and update of policies and procedures.
  • Staff training/education.
  • Clinical duties, which may include patient assessments, testing, and overall health management.
  • Handles patient issues related to patient experience, billing and insurance issues.
  • Use EPIC for documentation and IDX for scheduling and billing
  • Other duties as required
  • BS in a health related profession, i.e. Nursing, PA, Physiology (Masters preferred), with current licensure. Nursing or Physicians Assistant experience preferred.
  • MS in Exercise Physiology preferred if the position is utilized in this particular clinical area
