WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Dental Assistant School Based Program (DASBP) will provide quality care and services to patients by assisting dental hygienist(s), dentist(s) and other staff in a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties. Affect the efficiency and productivity of patient flow through timely, accurate and professional patient interactions, taking x-rays, assisting during patient visits.

Compensation - Dependent Upon Experience

$21.00 - $27.30 an hour

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The successful candidate will be willing and able to:

  • Ensure all patients enjoy a positive experience, and are treated with care and compassion expected. Create an environment where the patient feels comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
  • Pre-register and check in patients. Prepare all binders with enrollment packets for procedures.
  • Ensure all patient records and related documents are managed and maintained timely, accurately, and consistent with all HIPAA and standards and best practices. Scan documents when needed into the electronic health records.
  • Ensure patient health histories (dental and medical) are accurately documented according to standards and best practices for the dental hygienist’s reference prior to examination
  • Ensure all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes, and related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as clinic policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that the correct dental equipment is packed to take to the assigned work site to ensure that the dental hygienist is prepared for patient visits before the morning of the scheduled workday and transport the equipment to the work site.
  • Uses proper PPE at all times
  • Support the program director with implementation of the program where needed.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments in accordance with infection control procedures, standards and best practices
  • Assist dental hygienists to set-up instruments and supplies for procedures.
  • Empty instrument/equipment bins and prepare items needed for the next day.
  • Ensure the work area is left cleaned, load equipment, and return equipment to Elica warehouse.
  • Effectively fill daily appointment schedules, optimizing each dental provider’s day maximizing their personal ability, support staff, and physical resources.
  • Coordinate care plan adherence activities such as appointment reminders, follow up for patients needing additional dental treatments, arranging transportation, etc.
  • Enhances access to care for Elica patients by working to establish dental care provider relationships for continuity of care and a dental home.
  • Assists in providing enrollment packets to sites, as well as assists in assuring that all consent forms have been received and signed before rendering services.
