Role SummaryThe FBI requires the on-site assistance of four (4) Senior Electrical Engineers to fulfill the AESU team's design and construction requirements.
**These roles are 100% onsite in Washington D.C. (located either at the J. Edgar Hoover Building OR at 1025 F St NW). Individuals must have active Top Secret security clearance.**

Essential Functionsa. Review electrical design drawings and specifications related to lighting systems, lighting control systems, power systems, power distribution, grounding, lightning protection systems, generators, and UPS systems for commercial, government, and data center facilities. b. Select lighting fixtures and coordinate with other disciplines. c. Perform the electrical demand load calculations and generator load calculations. d. Select electrical equipment, size conduits, perform electrical panel load calculations, create and review product specifications, and create and review design layouts for electrical systems. e. Organize and conduct site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects. Provide recommendations to the clients and other team members. f. Troubleshoot electrical system issues. g. Interpret the National Electrical code and be able to communicate to the A/E firm for the project, as well as internal team members and clients. h. Act as a consultant in establishing design standards and criteria for construction projects. Provide expert electrical engineering comments based on these requirements. i. Participate in quality control and quality assurance during construction. j. Assist in writing scopes of work for projects. k. Perform construction administration duties, such as reviewing RFIs, field reports, and submittals. RTOR # Version 3.0 Page 4 l. Be able to size transformers and possess an understanding of riser diagrams. m. Design power to the data communication equipment, such as communication racks. n. Layout the most efficient method for cable trays in the building. Coordinate with A/E firm. o. Understand door hardware and conduit conditions required for each system. p. Read photometric site plans and verify correctness. q. Size and lay out a UPS system. r. Review sound masking and PA systems. s. Coordinate with AESU peer colleagues, FBI project managers, customers, other bureau personnel/contractors, and other project team members on projects as necessary. t. Other similar or related services not of a decision-making nature. u. Miscellaneous services will require proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project software tools, and AutoCAD. v. Assist in the development of reports, studies, and presentations. w. Exhibit professionalism, good customer service, and communication skills, and serve as a cooperative team player. x. Multitask and assume multiple projects or assignments simultaneously. y. Collaborate and resolve critical and possibly controversial issues with a multi-disciplined team of architects, engineers, and federal agency clients. z. Exhibit resiliency if shifting priorities require reprioritization of workload. aa. Understand and be able to implement standards as outlined in the Bureau’s Program of Requirements (POR), Campus Design Guides, and Construction Standards. Suggest edits or updates to these documents, as applicable.
Required Qualifications- Top Secret security clearance- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering - Must be proficient in the most current version of AutoCAD software- Must have at least ten (10) years of experience in commercial/government office building design and construction.
