Position Overview
This position will ensure SECU provides a safe and healthy environment for staff and members. They will respond proptly to employee issues and inquiries on health and safety matters and concerns. They will also work with department leadership, Human Resources and Legal Services to establish proper administration of accommodation requests.
Responsibilities

Promote a culture committed to health and safety. Work with management in the creation and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures. Contribute to employee training standards. Educate staff and leadership in how to maintain workplace safety throughout the organization.

Work with management to formulate department strategy as well as project selection, prioritization, and timeline of implementation.

Provide and review risk assessments associated with work environment, safety education, and accident investigation to prevent future incident occurrence. Conduct site visits for safety inspections and manage vendor relationships to support servicing and project needs.

Work closely with Facilities, Human Resources, Legal Services, and other departments to ensure proper administration of employee accommodation requests. Provide fulfillment of ADA and other approved accommodations.

Perform reviews to identify safety hazards including physical, ergonomic, environmental, electrical, and other concerns through risk assessments. Investigate workplace accidents to determine cause and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Must be able to comprehend scope of work related to ADA, ergonomics, construction, and other health and safety requests.

Collect and review the annual health and safety checklist required from every branch. Address issues noted as well as Fire Mashal Inspection action items. Analyze for recurring themes and create training to reduce future concerns for the organization.
External and Vendor Relationships:
Federal, state, and local municipalities who specialize in code enforcement and ADA.
Vendors including general contractors, electrical, landscaping, tree removal, concrete, painting, first aid, biohazard, furniture, etc.
Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelors Acceptable Fields of Study: Construction Management, Human Resources
Required Relevant Experience
8-12 years
Required Knowledge, Abilities, Skills
Training and certification in safety management practices, strong knowledge in occupational safety and health regulations, experience in conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
Desired Education, Experience, Knowledge, Abilities, Skills
Preferred: Experience in facility management or a field directly related to health and safety.
