Role Overview
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about indie games to enhance our connection with our players. If you’re a content creation powerhouse who lives and breathes the latest indie gamming trends, and can communicate our message in fun, impactful ways, we want to hear from you!

As a Content Marketing Specialist, you will be the driving force behind all things content marketing, creating meaningful, engaging, and relevant content that resonates with our audience. You’ll be responsible for owning the social media calendar, creating a diverse range of content including blogs, images, and videos that are engaging as hell and capture the spirit of our games. Your work will include everything from gameplay captures to creative, long-form videos, all while working in close collaboration with other teams to bring our marketing vision to life for our players.

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Strategy

• Develop content that engages, entertains, and resonates with each game’s target audience in the most relevant way.
• Be a meme connoisseur – drive engagement and social conversation while ensuring that our content feels authentic and fun.
• Own the social media calendar, planning and executing content that drives engagement and keeps our community buzzing.
• Manage the creation of ongoing longer-form video content, including dev diaries, studio deep dives, gameplay walkthroughs, and highlight reels.

Video & Content Editing

• Comfortable working with video editing software, taking raw footage and turning it into polished, engaging content.
• Lead game capture sessions for screenshots and videos that showcase our gameplay in an appealing and easy-to-understand way.
• Help create compelling text-based content like Velan blog posts, email newsletters, Steam community updates, and store page copy.
• All this work should be done in collaboration with the game director and members of the development team.

Creative Marketing Support

• Collaborate with the marketing team to bring new creative ideas and strategies that go above and beyond existing go-to-market plans.
• Provide event support for both online and in-person events, including setup, timeline management, and working with partners to ensure the event’s success.

Technical Skills & Collaboration

• Bring a tech-savvy approach to content creation with an eye for high-quality, visually compelling gameplay captures.
• Write on-brand copy for various marketing channels while keeping the tone consistent and engaging across all content types.

Requirements

• Demonstrated capability of fostering and building vibrant social communities on platforms popular among gamers (TikTok, X, YouTube, etc.).
• Proven experience in content marketing or similar role, ideally within the indie gaming industry.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Canva, and other design tools with a strong Graphic Design background and experience in typography, color theory, and layout.
• Familiarity editing videos and using editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)
• Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone and style based on the platform and target audience.
• Ability to capture engaging gameplay footage and create content that is both informative and entertaining.
• Familiarity with creating long-form video content, including editing, storytelling, and adding value to the community through insightful and entertaining formats.
