Job Overview

The Senior Director, Investor Relations will work in partnership with the VP, Investor Relations, CEO, COO/CFO and Communications team among others to create detailed guidance, and design and communicate the company’s investor relations strategy, growth opportunities, and business initiatives to deliver clarity, consistency, and widespread understanding of the Bold New Chapter strategy among investors and analysts. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's narrative and fostering strong relationships with the investment community. 

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Communication: Assist with the development and implementation of an investor relations strategy that aligns with the company's goals and enhances its visibility in the financial markets.
  • Quarterly Earnings Reporting: Assist in designing and delivering quarterly reporting through a structured process that balances rigor with flexibility to adapt to evolving circumstances. Assist with managing quarterly earnings calls, drafting key scripts and messaging for senior management, and oversee the preparation of supporting documents including Q&A, earnings presentation, and infographic. 
  • Earnings Guidance: Develop earnings guidance in partnership with cross-functional business partners. Present proposed earnings guidance to CEO and COO/CFO. Track and aggregate analyst consensus estimates and share with internal stakeholders, as needed. 
  • Other Financial Reporting/Ad Hoc Transactions: Review other financial reporting related documents including 10-Qs/10-Ks, other SEC filings, and financing transaction documents for accuracy and clarity of messaging. 
  • External Communications: Collaborate with communications team on development and review of non-earnings release related press releases and messaging (e.g. brand launches and store closures). 
  • Off-season outreach: Lead the off-season outreach effort to engage with institutional investors and highlight progress on our strategy and ESG-related initiatives. Collaborate with internal and external partners on messaging and engagement preparation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support the VP, Investor Relations, CEO and COO/CFO in conversations and communications with the investment community, including institutional investors, analysts, and rating agencies. Support CEO preparation for Annual Shareholders Meeting and coordinate responses to investor-submitted questions.  Assist with board communications, at least quarterly.
  • Investor Communications: Communicate business performance and strategy to investor community via one x one meetings/calls, comprehensive analyst days, sell-side analyst conferences, non-deal road shows, store tours, website content, press releases, presentations, etc. Prepare the schedules and content for these events, and strategy surrounding narrative.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure all investor communications comply with SEC regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Skills You Will Need

Financial Acumen: Strong analytical skills ability to independently manage and maintain a high-level “IR sell-side model” to engage credibly with analysts and investors. Ability to interpret and translate complex finance issues into concise and actionable data. Familiarity with securities, including equity, fixed income, and debt capital markets.
