General Description of Position
The adjunct instructor (faculty member) is responsible for developing and implementing various courses in a classroom and laboratory setting. Teaching assignments for this position may include, but are not limited to: Agriculture Business Mgt, Agriculture Marketing, Advanced Agriculture Marketing, Sales, Enterprise Analysis, Ag Technology, and Farm & Ranch Mgt. Additional responsibilities include student advising, participation on college teams, and other duties as assigned. This is a part-time temporary position.
Essential Functions
Provide Instruction in Assigned Subject Areas Provide instruction to students consistent with the objectives of each course assigned, utilizing appropriate instructional strategies and techniques. Teaching assignments for this position may include, but are not limited to: Agriculture Business Mgt, Agriculture Marketing, Advanced Agriculture Marketing, Sales, Enterprise Analysis, Ag Technology and Farm & Ranch Mgt. Instructor will review, evaluate, and select textbooks and supplemental material for course use. Be willing to develop and instruct curriculum in an online/hybrid format. Provide for Student Evaluation and Record-Keeping Develop a grading system for each class, maintain accurate records on student attendance, performance, and progress. Develop/Revise Course Curriculum and Educational Material Develop and/or revise written course objectives, content, descriptions, and instructional strategies following approved format. Develop, revise and maintain written classroom policies, grading structures, and strategies. Remain Current in events and developments related to subject areas Increase and improve personal teaching and subject knowledge through supplemental resources such as in-service activities, conferences, workshops, technical update and personal self-study. Attend Program and College Meetings and Serve on Teams Attend program/college staff meetings as directed and serve on teams as assigned. Serve as Academic Advisor for Students Tasks in this area include, but are not limited to: assist students in selecting and registering for courses; advise students on their academic progress, courses needed for graduation, and division/college policies. Perform Other Functions Related to Teaching Assignments Assist with supervising the program’s labs. Assist in maintaining security for all College equipment and materials. Provide information and data to assist in the preparation of budgets, course schedules, and other required reports. Operate and utilize, as part of the teaching process, appropriate multimedia equipment and computers. Individualized Development Plan (New Instructors) Each new instructor will develop an individualized development plan in cooperation with their supervisor. Professional Development Faculty should work with their supervisor to develop an annual plan of professional development and improvement. Program Chair Duties & Responsibilities If assigned to be Program Chair, the duties & responsibilities this would include, but not be limited, to: Coordinate the development and revision of curriculum; Participate in staffing and staff evaluation; Supervise program instructional staff; Participate in the budget process; Develop schedules of classes; Advise students and manage program registration process; Maintain active Program Advisory Committee; Practice and encourage safety.

1. Possess current knowledge and expertise in courses assigned per program curriculum plan.
2. Work experience equal to at least two years in area related to the teaching assignment.
3. Demonstrate and apply oral and written communication skills.
4. Develop/incorporate a variety of teaching strategies, techniques and evaluation methods within the face to face, on-line and laboratory settings.
5. Use a computer to do the following functions/applications: file storage/creation, email, communications, internet search and utilization, applications of word processing, spreadsheets, presentations.
6. Use, or be willing to learn how to use, multimedia equipment, computer aided instruction software, institutional network processes for grading, advising, registering, and other software and technical equipment applicatio
