Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Architect to join our team to work on our most complex and strategic commercial pursuits. Customers we engage with are looking to be disruptive and leaders in their markets and industries. You will help our customers create a vision for transformation and a transformation strategy leveraging AWS Cloud offerings that helps them reimagine, reinvent, and transform their business to create new business models and economic value. You will help them create a roadmap for execution and establish the value of transformation and be a thought leader in Cloud driven business transformation. 

Responsibilities:

• Establishing engineering best practices and guidelines for software architecture, design and implementation for cloud native transformations within AWS cloud. 
• Providing hands-on experience, guidance, and strategy, around Design Pattern solutions and their application, Modular Code, Microservices Design, Service Oriented Architectures, Event and Test Driven Design, Model Based Systems Engineering and Model Based Design, separation of Data/Interface/Processing layers, and reusable function and code design, and similar techniques.
• Providing strategy and guidelines for consolidating and standardizing implementation solutions for future reuse, building high performing and reliable solutions using AWS cloud native services. 
• Collaborating with Software Application Product teams on every development cycle to provide consultation and guidance around design and implementation of both functional and non-functional solutions. 
• Leading design review boards and discussions with executive stakeholders.
• Cataloging and maintaining an inventory of implementation solutions across the organization.
• Working with senior leaders to create a thesis of transformation, build a common vision of transformation and its strategy.
• Build the business case for change and prepare presentations for C-level executive stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with enterprise-level technology transformation and modernization initiatives, at scale, in FSI and/or other banking industries.  
• 8-10 years of strong software development experience, design patterns and principles.
• Demonstrated experience leading a team of software developers using Java, JEE, Spring, Spring Boot languages/frameworks. 
• Extensive experience with AWS and strong understanding of AWS cloud native services to build enterprise software.
• Demonstrated experience with design, architecture and implementation of microservices, containers and cloud-native application development. 
• Ability to discuss architectural strategies with the executive leadership team.
• Strong understanding of static code analysis, unit testing and test driven development, security testing and automated test frameworks. Experience using Jenkins, SonarQube, GIT, Maven, Gradle.
• Proven track record of delivering high quality and consistent systems and environments for development teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to clearly communicate design ideas and technology strategies with executive stakeholder
