Responsibilities

Functions as an experienced team member assisting Lab Supervisor in the day- to-day operations of High-Complexity Testing Laboratories and is committed to utilizing the most current technologies available. Performs a wide range of FDA-approved and laboratory-developed procedures in high volume clinical lab setting. Actively participates in performing complex laboratory- developed tests and validating novel assays.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

  • Must have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Medical Technology/Biochemistry/ Biology or other Life Science disciplines from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have Georgia recognized certification in Medical Technology or being eligible for such certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of molecular biology clinical laboratory experience;
  • Experience in various methods of nucleic acids purification (DNA or RNA)
  • Knowledge of various platforms for real-time PCR (TAQMAN, FRET, etc)
  • Familiarity with gene sequencing platforms (STR analysis, Sangers’ sequencing, NEXTGEN sequencing)
  • Basic computer skills: knowledge of MS Office (Excel, MS Word); basic statistics skills; understanding of laboratory information systems.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adjust to flexible schedules varied hours or work on-call.
  •  Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test

  • Basic knowledge of assay development.
  • Knowledge of molecular diagnostic software for sequence analysis and DNA-fragment analysis.
  • Ability to prioritize required duties and responsibilities.
  • Skills to define problems, to collect data, to establish facts and to draw valid conclusions.
  • Work Hours:

    Mon - Fri: 8:30am - 5:00pm
