BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.
BioMarin is the world leader in delivering therapeutics that provide meaningful advances to patients who live with serious and life-threatening rare genetic diseases. We target diseases that lack effective therapies and affect relatively small numbers of patients, many of whom are children. These conditions are often inherited, difficult to diagnose, progressively debilitating and have few, if any, treatment options. BioMarin will continue to focus on advancing therapies that are the first or best of their kind.
- Enhance and automate current analytics programs using latest digitalisation tools and technologies.
- Develop new, best in class reporting based on business experience and ongoing bench marking and trends in external environment.
- Problem solve and challenge current reports and metrics and initiate new improved cutting-edge supply chain KPIs to drive global planning continuously forward.
- Influence change through business critical KPIs across demand and supply i.e. E2E across global planning and global supply chain.
- Drive an initiative to redefine our team’s approach to data, transitioning from siloed metrics to delivering maximum value for our assets and optimising ROI.
- Create data products that enhance decision-making ensuring data is readily accessible in user friendly formats.
- Be regarded as a strategic partner in global planning and GSC team driving the implementation of data driven strategies.
- Translating multiple data inputs into meaningful actionable business insights.
- Leading a change approach that is less data and more information focussed, driving simpler and more efficient ways of reporting and presenting metrics.
- Introduce innovation in inventory modelling ensuring inventory optimization. Develop solutions on inventory forecasting techniques to provide the business with a forward looking view of inventory, in line with our demand and supply planning teams.
- Develop, track, and own reporting metrics to root cause gaps across global planning, then project manage cross-functionally across the organization to close them out.
- Investigate and explore opportunities to optimize, scale, and automate processes using data-driven solutions and applications.
- Translate quantitative research and analysis into actionable insights, prepare visualizations and present findings with influential storytelling.
- Work and influence across other data/relevant functions in BioMarin to drive innovation and best practices in business analytics.
- It is anticipated that this position in the future will include people management responsibilities.
- Key requirements – strong leadership and business acumen; being curious and creative; having a collaborative solutions mindset and ability to influence and drive change management across multiple stakeholders; able to build cross functional relationships and work well under pressure and unknown challenges and ambiguity. Operate successfully in a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes.
- Degree in Data Sciences, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations Research fields or relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience in data analytics, supply chain operations, logistics, E-commerce, or manufacturing.
- Operational Excellence, Lean Process development, Six Sigma tools and techniques are desirable.
