We are seeking a talented individual to join our Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) team at Mercer. This role will be based in Chicago, Illinois or within a US city where we have a Mercer office location. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Senior Pharmacy Benefits Management Consultant
In this position, you will lead complex client engagements, managing overall service delivery and strategy while developing sophisticated benefits design and renewal strategies. You will play a crucial role in addressing complex client issues and ensuring the profitability of client accounts.
We will count on you to:
- Lead complex client engagements, including managing overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, business placement, benchmarking, and other studies.
- Assist in the development of sophisticated benefits design and renewal strategies, driving the creation of tools and solutions to address complex client issues.
- Determine the full scope of services provided to clients and set roles/responsibilities within the client team.
- Be accountable for revenue and profitability for client accounts and projects.
- Generate sales by expanding revenues from existing clients and leading prospecting efforts with new clients.
- Establish effective carrier/vendor relationships to serve clients in benefits procurement and administration, including eligibility, claims, billing, plan implementation, contracts, plan changes, and necessary amendments.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to direct reports and project team members, delegating effectively to provide developmental opportunities.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor Degree
- 7+ years of relevant experience, in Pharmacy Benefits Management of Health and Benefits Consulting
- Client-facing experience within a consulting or Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) environment
- Analytical, communication, and listening skills
- Excellent organization and project management skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office products
