We built a central consumer data platform that contains all interactions and engagements of our consumers with PostNL. Our platform is mission critical in supplying valuable data to other teams in the Consumer department. Moreover, we are creating an open-source engineering community in which we share “best practices” and innovations in the consumer domain.</p> <p> </p> <p>What is your role?<br/> As our Senior Software Engineer, you will be joining a development team with software engineers, a solution consultant, a Scrum master, and a product owner. As a team, we are making the transition from outsourcing our IT to creating our own IT. You will be translating complex business processes, into practical software applications. Our applications are built with Python and with Serverless AWS infrastructure CI/CD in a microservices architecture. You are most welcome to think with your team about the use of new technologies, product improvements and the software architecture. All modern technologies and our whole engineering community are here to support you. You will work together with allying platforms, peers, and colleagues in the consumer domain. Moreover, you will be part of the PostNL engineering community in which we share “best practices” and innovations in our company.</p> <p> </p> <p>Our aim<br/> Ever since we started our business more than two centuries ago, we have been able to disrupt the market and act as a front-runner with technical innovation. You love to apply your knowledge and skills in designing, developing, and improving technical applications in our consumer tech domain. You will strive to balance quality, business value, time, and costs. We trust you to grow and share your vision about how we will keep on being the favorite deliverer in The Benelux.</p> <p> </p> <p>In summary you can find yourself in the following background:<br/> •    Designing and implementing cloud-native, distributed microservices have no secrets for you<br/> •    You're comfortable with building Serverless solutions on top of Amazon Web Services (AWS); we use Lambda, Glue, Athena, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, and other similar products offered, and CDK to manage &amp; deploy our services<br/> •    You have at least five years of experience with a modern programming language, preferably Python<br/> •    You have an affinity with data engineering and are familiar with data warehouse design patterns <br/> •    You enjoy crafting software that makes a meaningful difference for millions of consumers, and you know how to use data structures and design patterns to do so</p> <p> </p> <p>What do we offer?<br/> In PostNL we find ourselves in a unique moment of time in which we see lots of greenfield situations.
