Autism & Psychological Assessment Specialist

Location: Bluffton, SC (with opportunities to support other Wright Directions locations throughout South Carolina)

Wright Directions is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Licensed Psychoeducational Specialist (LPES) to join our expanding Psychological Assessment Department. This position is ideal for an LPES who enjoys conducting comprehensive evaluations and helping individuals and families obtain accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment recommendations.

As one of South Carolina's leading behavioral health organizations, Wright Directions provides outpatient therapy, psychiatric medication management, crisis services, school-based behavioral health, rehabilitative behavioral health services, and psychological testing. Due to continued growth, we are expanding our assessment services throughout the state.

Position Summary

The LPES will conduct comprehensive evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults to assist in diagnostic clarification and treatment planning. Evaluations may include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, behavioral concerns, emotional disorders, and other neurodevelopmental and behavioral health conditions within the scope of South Carolina LPES licensure.

Responsibilities


Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational and behavioral health evaluations.
Perform Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnostic assessments.
Evaluate for ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, emotional and behavioral disorders, and other conditions within the LPES scope of practice.
Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessment instruments.
Complete clinical interviews and review educational, medical, and behavioral records.
Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports with diagnostic impressions and evidence-based recommendations.
Collaborate with therapists, psychiatrists, primary care providers, schools, families, and community partners.
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with South Carolina licensing requirements, Medicaid regulations, and agency policies.


Qualifications

Required


Current South Carolina Licensed Psychoeducational Specialist (LPES) license in good standing.
Experience administering and interpreting standardized psychological and educational assessments.
Strong diagnostic, clinical interviewing, and report-writing skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.


Preferred


Experience conducting Autism evaluations.
Familiarity with assessment instruments such as:

ADOS-2
CARS-2
Vineland-3
BASC-3
Conners-4
WISC-V
WAIS-IV/WAIS-V (when appropriate)
WIAT-4
Other standardized cognitive, behavioral, adaptive, and achievement measures.
