Position Overview

The Division of Family and Community Services is seeking to hire a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing expertise in the review of all medical and social information provided by Department of Human Services (DHS) field offices and other sources for Temporary Assistance for Needy Family (TANF), and MANG cases. The Registered Nurse reviews medical history for disability cases involving human illnesses and injuries, Social Security regulations and criteria regarding disability determinations and regulations established by DHS.  This position prepares detailed assessment and rationale of cases identifying disabilities under the program and the basis for professional medical decisions and participates in and attends professional nursing conferences and staff development sessions. 

Essential Functions

  • Provides professional nursing expertise in the review of all medical and social information provided by Department of Human Services (DHS) field offices and other sources for Temporary Assistance for Needy Family (TANF), and Medical Assistance-non grant (MANG) cases.
  • Reviews medical history for disability cases involving human illnesses and injuries, Social Security regulations and criteria regarding disability determinations and regulations established by DHS.
  • Prepares detailed assessment and rationale of cases identifying disabilities under the program and the basis for professional medical decisions.
  • Participates in and attends professional nursing conferences and staff development sessions.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires graduation from an approved nursing education program resulting in an associate or diploma degree in nursing
