Lilly is entering an exciting period of growth, and we are committed to delivering innovative medicines to patients around the world. LRL has increasing needs for in-house manufacture of material for clinical supplies and will therefore construct a new campus to manufacture Clinical Trial (CT) Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) to meet needs for an expanding portfolio (more and new areas), to accelerate development timelines, and to enhance supply chain robustness.
The brand-new facility also known as Lilly Medicine Foundry (LMF) will utilize the latest technology to augment the current clinical supply chain for small molecules (SM), oligonucleotides, peptides, and Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs), monoclonal antibodies and bioconjugates, and add new capabilities including mRNA. The new site will be built using the latest high-tech equipment, advanced highly integrated and automated manufacturing systems, and have a focus on minimizing the impact to our environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
You will be part of LRL Tech@Lilly an organization that drives innovation through utilization of technology.
As Laboratory systems architect your main function is to partner with the quality and laboratory functional areas as well as global Tech@Lilly teams to implement and support digital laboratory solutions to support the organizational objectives of the Lilly Medicine Foundry. Responsibilities will involve interacting with global Tech@Lilly and local site support functions to configure systems and assist with installing and qualifying laboratory IT systems such as LIMS/LES, Environment testing, ELN, Chromatography management, HPLC management. The role will also be responsible for designing and implementing instrument connectivity and data pipeline solutions for lab instruments and data. The role will evolve into monitoring, execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Laboratory IT Systems for the site with an emphasis on innovation and continuous improvement. This role will serve as a representative for laboratory IT systems and will be responsible for mentoring and educating peers on the use of lab systems, supporting audits, and oversight for management reviews, laboratory metrics, laboratory equipment, and laboratory documentation.
How You'll Succeed:
- Architect Digital Laboratory Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of digital laboratory solutions, partnering with quality and laboratory functional areas and global IT teams.
- System Configuration and Qualification: Architect and oversee the configuration, installation, and qualification of laboratory IT systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Instrument Connectivity and Data Pipelines: Design and implement robust instrument connectivity and data pipeline solutions to integrate laboratory instruments with IT systems.
- System Monitoring and Improvement: Develop and implement strategies for monitoring, maintaining, and continuously improving Laboratory IT Systems, with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
- Mentorship and Education: Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to peers on laboratory IT systems, support audits, and oversee management reviews, laboratory metrics, equipment, and documentation.
What You Should Bring:
- Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with Startups: Previous experience in the startup of a new facility or clinical development manufacturing site.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Industry Engagement: Active participation in industry forums and standards organizations.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure Cloud Solutions Architect, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),Project Management Professional (PMP), or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
