About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to Program Manager and Assistant Director in the delivery of high-quality education programs (English for Speakers of Other Languages); assist members in advancing their educational goals and careers at the Training and Employment Funds
- Facilitate member enrollment in appropriate programs; coordinate and organize all the logistical aspects of classes and cohort programs, facilitate workshops and orientations for students
- Negotiate with management for time-off and release time to attend college courses; assist in evaluating existing program offerings and create changes to improve student outcomes
- Ensure students are aware of their obligations throughout their learning experience, resulting in timely submission of required documents and enhance customer satisfaction
- Resolve member issues and complex case management situations with special reference to cohort programs
- Serve as a liaison with stakeholders including union organizers/delegates, educational institutions such as colleges, universities and training providers
- Enter, collect, and review student data; create and analyze reports for Trustees and other stakeholders to ensure eligibility and academic standards are being met
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Healthcare or equivalent years of experience required
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in adult education, training or workforce development required
- Bilingual in Spanish language required
- Basic skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred
- Experience with healthcare career ladders/education programs (teaching, facilitating, partnering) preferred
- Must have excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strong relationships with staff and stakeholders (union, members, and educational institutions); handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and work well under pressure
- Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends as needed
