Deputy General Counsel

We’re looking for a strategic, pragmatic, and business-oriented Deputy General Counsel to join our legal team to serve as the day-to-day lead of the legal function, overseeing core legal operations across commercial, compliance, employment, intellectual property, data privacy and security, litigation, and product counseling. This role requires both hands-on execution and big picture thinking. You will be a true thought partner and trusted ally to the General Counsel and senior leaders, helping scale the legal function while building authentic relationships and camaraderie across teams.You’ll bring the experience to immediately contribute to high-impact priorities, particularly in supporting our sales organization. WHAT YOU'LL OWN & DRIVE

● Serve as the day-to-day lead for the legal function, acting as the primary legal advisor to internal teams and a trusted partner to the General Counsel.
● Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including: master services agreements; marketing and vendor agreements; and channel and strategic partner agreements.
● Provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice to cross-functional teams including Sales, Product, Security/IT, Engineering, People, Finance and Marketing.
● Advise on legal risks and regulatory considerations related to product development, employee relations, go-to-market strategy, marketing initiatives, and data privacy and security.
● Manage relationships with external counsel and legal vendors across subject areas such as litigation, employment, privacy, and intellectual property.
● Develop and optimize internal legal processes, templates, playbooks, and tools to drive speed, consistency, and scale.
● Monitor legal and regulatory developments and communicate risk and business impact to stakeholders clearly and effectively.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

● J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
● 10+ years of legal experience with at least 5 years in-house supporting technology companies.
● Experience developing and negotiating SaaS agreements and a strong understanding of B2B subscription-based business models.
● Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional legal matters, exercise sound judgment under pressure, and drive results in a dynamic, scaling environment.
● Adept at balancing legal risk with business objectives and providing actionable legal advice.
● Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and sense of humor.
● Familiarity with global privacy and cybersecurity laws and their application in SaaS environments is a bonus.
● Experience building legal operations initiatives, including contract lifecycle management, workflows and automation is a bonus.

The salary range listed is the base pay range for this position. In addition, the total compensation package includes bonus, equity and benefits. Actual earnings may be less or more depending on a candidate's direct experience, skills, industry knowledge, and location.

Compensation$225,000—$275,000 USD
