The Observability team is in charge of developing solutions that focus on application developers and engineers that run infrastructure and services supporting these applications. Elasticsearch is an efficient datastore for logs, metrics, and application traces, supporting the three pillars of observability. The Observability team builds and maintains solutions that make getting insights from this data turnkey and efficient, such as our APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, Logs, and Synthetic Monitoring solutions. When developing these solutions, we think about the problem end-to-end: how do we automatically collect data from common data sources, how do we store it efficiently in Elasticsearch, how do we present this information to the user, what actions do we take on the insights from the data? All of these aspects are important in bringing a turnkey solution to the market.

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on the Observability team, you'll primarily be working on UIs and APIs in Kibana devoted to curated observability users. You'll be working with the UI team and product management to build high quality, intuitive and innovative UIs and robust APIs to drive the experience.

What you will be doing

• Work on new and exciting Elastic products.
• Innovate, lead and contribute to UIs for turnkey solutions built on top of Kibana.
• Write and maintain TypeScript (React and Node.js) code.
• Collaborate with other development teams, product design and the Kibana team.

What you will bring along

• 5+ years of frontend development work
• Strong JavaScript programming skills
• Experience with one modern JS Framework (preferably React)
• Ability to work in a fast paced start-up environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a great teammate with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in a distributed team throughout the world

You might have:

• Experience with Node.js
• Experience with Typescript
• Experience writing automated tests
• Exposure to Observability, Performance or Availability tools or services
• Knowledge and experience with Elasticsearch or Kibana
• Experience in Open Source
