About the role

Help Deliver the Kalahari Experience

At Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, we don’t just create vacations—we craft unforgettable experiences. Home to America’s Largest Indoor Waterparks, our African-inspired resorts offer world-class dining, luxurious spas, thrilling entertainment, and cutting-edge convention centers that redefine hospitality.

But we’re more than a resort. As a family-owned company, our Promise is simple: Lead with Love. This means caring deeply for our guests, associates, and communities, treating people like family, giving back generously, and creating spaces where everyone feels valued.

Through our partnership with charity: water, we’re also committed to bringing clean water to one million people in Africa.

Group Sales Manager
We are inviting you to apply for our open Group Sales Manager position. In this position, your primary objective is to solicit, develop, and maintain accounts through direct inbound and outside sales efforts in assigned market segments, ensuring that budgeted financial results are achieved and exceeded.

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. As a Group Sales Manager, you’ll build genuine client relationships, communicate with transparency and care, and empower your team to succeed. By crafting memorable group experiences and managing opportunities thoughtfully, you ensure every guest interaction feels personal, welcoming, and exceptional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all incoming leads and proactively prospect within designated market segments.
  • Develop, negotiate, and close group business opportunities to achieve revenue goals.
  • Maintain an active sales funnel aligned with both short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Conduct full property site visits, delivering exceptional experiences that exceed client expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales and/or Corporate Director of Sales to identify and pursue new market opportunities.
  • Prepare and present business proposals, contracts, and related sales documentation.
  • Possible participation in 3–5 sales trips annually to promote property and expand market presence.

What We’re Looking For

  • A background consisting of at least two years of hotel sales experience in a property larger than 500 rooms preferred.
  • Experience and proven success in developing and closing group business including prospecting, overcoming objections, negotiating, and closing the sale.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with internal departments—such as catering, finance, and group rooms—to ensure seamless execution of sales agreements.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in public speaking and client presentations.
