Description
Summary
Plans and provides clinical support to patients and nursing staff. Participates in quality improvement processes for the department. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to organize and provide care that is appropriate to the condition of all patients.
Purchasing
- Order medications from appropriate vendors.
- Maintain Nucleus system to ensure the accurate inventory.
Maintain Stock
- Medication stock is assessed and replaced per the established schedule so that outages are minimized.
- Check medication expiration date monthly.
- Stock & maintain dispensing area with IV bags and syringes to ensure efficient work flow.
Law Compliance
- Check refrigerator temperature daily and record on refrigerator temperature
- log to ensure medications are stored appropriately.
- Clean chemo hood daily with distilled water and alcohol. Clean chemo hood
- with Lysol stock cleaning weekly.
- Ensure the Biological hood is recertified every 6 month
- Adheres to standard precautions and safety policies.
- Demonstrates awareness of equipment management and procedures.
- Helps maintain a safe and clean/patient/work environment.

Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
Qualifications:
- Must have fulfilled all requirements of the Board of Pharmacy registration
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred, New Jersey Board of Pharmacy registration
