Located north of Baltimore, TU currently enrolls over 19,000 students and is the second-largest university in the prestigious University System of Maryland. Towson University fosters a climate that is grounded in respect and supports the intellectual and personal growth of the entire university community.

Assistant Directors (ADs) of Admission serve a vital role as undergraduate student recruiters, admissions counselors, project managers, and leaders within the Office of Admissions at Towson University. This AD position oversees a specific area within the TU enrollment portfolio and works primarily with transfer students who attend the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), serving as their recruiter, admissions counselor, and pre-transfer advisor. This position also manages the Degrees to Succeed (D2S) partnership between TU and CCBC, providing services to D2S students especially as well as providing annual reports and assessments on the program’s effectiveness to help shape the partnership strategy.

This position is an official representative of Towson University for CCBC and D2S, which includes scheduling regular visits to CCBC’s four campuses, as well as attending general recruitment events such as college fairs, high school visits, and other activities as needed.

As a member of the Undergraduate Recruitment Team, the selected individual will aid in the successful strategic planning and execution of the office’s collective goals. They will recruit, review, and enroll qualified students to TU while providing exceptional customer service to prospective students and their families, assisting with various marketing activities, and developing relationships with community college partners, community-based organizations, the University System of Maryland, TU alumni, and other external constituents. As an experienced admissions counselor, the AD will also engage with distinct special populations such as honors, military, and international students; students participating in the Transfer Tiger Pact program; and other unique transfer student types.

  • Manage the Degrees to Succeed program, ensuring all D2S students are advised, evaluated, and reviewed for admission in accordance with the program guidelines and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

  • Assist with the implementation of a co-advising model, collaborating with CCBC faculty advisors to guide students on course selection, major exploration, career pathways, academic policies, and degree requirements.

  • Ensure a seamless transition between professional and faculty advising by providing consistent support and resources tailored to students' academic progress and goals.

  • Evaluate the D2S program with data-driven reports and assessments, assisting with shaping partnership strategy and MOU updates as appropriate.

  • Represent TU at recruitment & advisement events and conduct TU information presentations both on- and off-campus throughout the year.

  • Regularly host counseling and pre-transfer advising sessions both at community colleges and via 1:1 appointments.

  • Counsel prospective, admitted, and enrolled undergraduate students on admission to TU. Represent TU by providing excellent customer service to all students
