Essential Functions:

• Under general supervision, independently performs a variety of skilled practical nursing functions for physically ill, disabled, or geriatric residents in an assigned nursing unit and shift.
• Observes, records, and reports to physicians, registered nurses, or the supervisory nurse the symptoms, reactions, and changes in residents conditions.
• Provides for the emotional, physical comfort and security of residents.
• Assists in maintaining working and living areas and supplies in good order.
• Assists in providing guidance to nursing assistants relative to nursing techniques.
• Performs selected nursing functions in situations which do not require the specialized knowledge and skill of a registered nurse.
• Carries out assigned nursing policies and procedures.
• Administers medication, injections, and treatments.
• Takes and records temperatures, pulses, respirations, oxygen saturation, and blood pressures.
• Performs other duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires Illinois license as a practical nurse.
• Requires one (1) year of practical nursing experience.
