Summary
SRP is seeking a motivated student intern to support our teams while gaining hands‑on experience in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful work, and develop technical and professional skills relevant to their field of study. The Fleet Services student intern will gain hands-on experience working in a professional fleet maintenance shop environment while supporting the inspection, maintenance, and repair of utility vehicles and equipment. This internship is ideal for students interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades, automotive technology, or related field.
What You'll Do
- Support/observe with routine vehicle and equipment inspections, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Support/observe preventive maintenance tasks, including fluid checks, tire inspections, cleaning, and basic vehicle servicing.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
- Assist with inventory management, tool organization, and parts handling.
- Learn and follow safety procedures, shop practices, and operating standards.
- Perform general labor, cleaning, and support tasks as assigned.
- Work both inside the maintenance shop and outdoors around vehicles and equipment.
Education
Additional Requirements and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college degree-seeking program.
- Interest in careers in skilled trades, automotive technology, diesel technology, mechanics, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems is preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and positive attitude.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment as needed.
- Ability to work safely in a shop environment and outdoors in various weather conditions.
