Director of Patient Relations & Quality Assurance
The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry is seeking a Full-time Clinical Assistant/Associate/Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences, Division of Comprehensive Care to act as our Director of Patient Relations and Quality Assurance. The Director of Patient Relations and Quality Assurance plays a pivotal role in the healthcare system, dedicated to enhancing the overall patient experience and fostering strong relationships between patients and healthcare providers. This individual serves as a bridge, ensuring that patients' voices are heard, their concerns are addressed, and their needs are met throughout their healthcare journey while playing a crucial role in implementing and maintaining quality assurance procedures, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Relations:
- Investigating and resolving patient concerns and complaints.
- Serving as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
- Assisting patients in understanding policies, procedures, and services.
- Advocating for patient rights and ensuring fair treatment.
- Tracking and analyzing patient feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Implementing patient-centric initiatives and improving service delivery.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensuring the accuracy, safety, and effectiveness of treatments and procedures.
- Analyzing patient data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve quality of care.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Conducting audits and monitoring systems to identify and correct deficiencies.
- Providing training and education on quality assurance practices.
Other Common Responsibilities:
- Documenting patient interactions and resolutions.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with other departments to improve patient experience.
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.

Qualifications
- Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field.
- Experience Required: 24 months experience in a patient liasion role or related experience.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a related field with a background in dentistry. DDS or RDH background is helpful.
