The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Part-Time Student-Industrial Engineer for John Deere Waterloo Works Drivetrain Division located in Waterloo, IA, you will...

 

  • Assist in the creation of sequence of events documentation including output standards to be used in baseline data for wage performance pay plans, product costing, and capacity planning.
  • Work with electronic tools to perform engineering functions.
  • Develop plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing.
  • Participate in implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Assist in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans.

 

This position is not available to students on immigration visas.

What Skills You Need

 

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Materials Engineering; others may apply.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
  • Graduation date of May 2026 later.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.
  • Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly.
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, Iowa, on a daily basis year-round.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software including Outlook and Excel.
