Summary of Job Duties:

The Clinical Care Assistant (CCA) is a professional nursing student who has completed a minimum of one semester of clinical experience. The CCA provides direct patient care and unit activities under supervision of a Registered Nurse (R.N.); practices within the Department of Nursing standards; and adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school, GED, or formal educational equivalent

• Must be enrolled in a state-approved RN Nursing school, and have completed a minimum of one (1) semester of Basic Theory/Skills check-off and one (1) clinical rotation experience in an NLN-accredited school of professional nursing

• Must have CPR certification (BLS) or obtain within 3 months of hire into this role

• Ability to follow oral instructions, read, and write. Ability to communicate with staff, patients, and families following Guest CARE guidelines
