Business Analyst

Job Description

CSCI is seeking a knowledgeable Business Analyst to provide subject matter expertise in a non-IT domain to support the successful delivery of IT-related tasks. This position is intended for candidates with non-Information Technology (non-IT) functional expertise who are supporting IT initiatives within a government environment. The Business Analyst provides task-specific subject matter expertise essential for interpreting functional requirements, advising IT teams, and ensuring the successful execution of technology initiatives. While this is not a technical IT role, the individual will work closely with IT consultants and development teams to align IT systems with mission-critical functional objectives.

Responsibilities

• Apply domain-specific functional expertise to support IT projects and ensure task requirements are fully understood and met
• Collaborate with IT consultants, analysts, and developers to provide guidance based on specialized functional knowledge
• Interpret non-IT business or operational requirements and translate them for effective implementation in IT systems or solutions
• Provide insight and recommendations throughout the analysis, evaluation, and implementation phases of system development or enhancement
• Ensure alignment between functional area needs and IT deliverables to support successful project outcomes
• Contribute to documentation, testing, and user validation efforts by leveraging domain-specific expertise

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience 
• Active DoD Secret security clearance
• IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level: IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, CEH, SSCP)
• Oracle based - CE/Operating System Certification
• Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
• Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Professional presence

Preferred Skills

• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
• Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
• Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
• Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
• Past experience working with a federal agency 
• Department of Defense experience is a plus!
