- The purpose of the Director, Genesis Aftersales role is to provide vision and lead the Genesis Brand Aftersales, Owner Marketing, and Parts Operations to establish and achieve Genesis goals. Service and Parts responsibilities include guiding the parts, accessory, and service operations of the franchised retailers in partnership with Hyundai. In addition, this position must contribute to GMNA’s profitability through the achievement of Parts and Accessories sales objectives. This position must interface with senior management in GHQ and HMC, work in collaboration with HMNA/HMA and various affiliate companies, as well as the Retail Advisory Board (RAB).
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for Owner Retention throughout the buyer lifecycle.
- Closely collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Customer Experience and Field organizations as well as dealer groups and vendors to gather stakeholder input / agreement in the definition of the sales, parts, service, and capacity standards.
- Closely collaborate with GMA sales and field operations teams who are the primary window for deployment of programs and communications to the field and dealers.
- Work in partnership with the other related Customer Experience, Retail Experience and After Sales teams such as Product Quality/Service Engineering, Warranty, Tech-Line/FSE, Call Centers and Customer Care to ensure an aligned strategy to support measuring and optimizing the owner experience and dealer processes.
- Participate in industry events / forums and benchmark competitors to identify, select, and incorporate innovative process and programs into the Hyundai best practice process.
- Define, source, develop, and operate best practice processes, tools, equipment, and programs to support the in-dealer sales, service, and parts process. Examples include, but are not limited to, Digital Retail Tools, Service Rental Car/Fleet Management, tire and oil programs, service drive layouts, shop flow, alignment measuring repair tools etc. Measure the effectiveness/ROI and drive continuous improvement of said programs.
- Direct and manage parts strategy, pricing, and operations through affiliated vendor Mobis Parts America to achieve HMA parts sales and profit as well as delivery fill rate and wholesale parts sales strategies.
- Drive parts planning & analysis to define, measure, and improve the parts process and programs to maximize Hyundai and Genesis brand parts sales and parts profit along with Controller responsibilities for profit reporting and forecasting.

- Manage parts sales target achievement, including service parts, retail parts, wholesale, and collision. This includes leading the development of the regional and dealer objective methodology, communications, reporting and incentives.
- Set the strategy, source, and price for and operate third party parts/material supply programs and operations to support parts sales and profit as well as CSI. (e.g.: batteries, tires, oil, low priced parts, reman, etc.).
- Lead Owner Marketing with direct responsibility for Parts Sales, Campaign and Recall completions, Connected Car subscriptions and owner education.
- Oversee and manage the sub-division annual budget and budget recovery funds
Authority
- As a senior executive within the US organization, the Director may also be asked to represent the company on a wide range of issues that include industry-related events, governmental regulatory and legislative initiatives, social and environmental questions and challenges, philanthropic responsibilities, and dealer and customer relations.
- Signature authority to approve accounting documents as per Company’s signature matrix.
- Signature authority on expense reports and time-off reports for direct reports.
- Expected to identify and solve issues related to GMNA and related divisions.
- Conduct hiring interviews, make hiring recommendations and extend approved hiring offers.
