About the opportunity

At Xplor, the Central Technology Team has one main purpose: to enable and complement the business strategies and goals while solving real problems for our customers and users.

We have dozens of applications in our everyday-life verticals that all have their technology uniqueness and their individual purpose. We also use some of the latest technology in Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Containers and are constantly looking to find innovative new ways to meet the challenges of running a unique global business.

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the Engineering team to innovate, research, and develop code following coding standards and adhering to designs supporting internal business requirements and/or external customers. 

You will have a buddy and an entire team to ensure you are learning, gaining experience, supporting and having fun!

• Exposure to full stack developers, not just front or back-end work.
• Use of agile development and modern frameworks
• Hands on experience and exposure to multiple programs including HTML, JavaScript, C#, Modular, Java, .NET,
• Ability to provide meaningful development content that adds value to your career.

Location: For this position, we offer a hybrid and flexible working model, where you’ll spend most of your day in our St. Louis office with some flexibility to work from home.

Internship:  Internships are a 9-week program, starting June 5 through August 4th.   The internships are a 40 hour a week with standard Monday-Friday business working hours.   The hourly rate for the internship is $20/hr.   We understand that students do have family vacation time planned over the summer, the recruiting team and managers will discuss time off needs during the recruiting process to determine if that will prevent a barrier to the program. 

Qualifications

What would make me a good candidate? 
 

Required Qualifications:  

• Actively enrolled in an undergraduate computer science or other relevant engineering, information technology degree
• Completed coursework and knowledge of development design principles and C#.
• Understanding of industry best practices with leveraging appropriate software design patterns
• Ability to communicate both written and verbally effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

 Desired Qualifications  

• Formal knowledge or coursework with SQL Server
• Formal knowledge, coursework or experience with the following:
  • Developing secure, RESTful APIs
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Mobile platform development (iOS and Android)
