About the Role
As the Director of Data Science & Analytics at Charlie Health, you will build our data science and product analytics function from the ground up. You will lead a high-performing team to partner with Product, Engineering, Clinical, Operations, and Growth to define, measure, and optimize our product experience and business outcomes. You will embed analytics across pods, own the experimentation program, and drive predictive modeling efforts. Responsibilities
- Set the vision and strategy for data science, product analytics, and experimentation across the organization.
- Build and lead a centralized team of analysts and data scientists embedded across product pods and business units
- Define and maintain company-wide metric definitions, instrumentation standards, analytical pipelines, and dashboards
- Lead the end-to-end experimentation process: design, execution, analysis, learnings, and decision-making.
- Prioritize, partner on, and oversee predictive modeling initiatives, working with ML Engineering for production deployment
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Product, Engineering, Clinical, Growth, Executive) to align data efforts with business & mission goals
- Coach and develop your team, establish best practices for analytics, and promote a data-driven culture
Requirements
- 8+ years in data/analytics roles, including at least 3 years managing teams of analysts/data scientists (people management across analytics engineering & data science preferred)
- Proven success leading analytics engineering, data pipelines, reporting systems, and embedded product analytics in a product- or health-tech environment
- Strong technical proficiency: SQL, Python (or R), modern ELT/ETL, OLAP databases (e.g., Snowflake), dbt, BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Hex)
Demonstrated experience setting up and scaling experimentation programs (A/B tests, causal inference, lift measurement) - Experience with predictive modeling work that influences product or operations, in partnership with ML/engineering teams for deployment
- Excellent ability to communicate and influence at all levels; strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Passion for mission-driven work in mental health or healthcare settings and a desire to apply your skills to improve outcomes
- Please note: candidates located within a 75-minute commute of our NYC office are expected to work onsite 4 days/week.

Additional Information
The total target base compensation for this role will be between $225,000 and $315,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role offers a target performance-based bonus. The target total cash compensation range, including potential bonus, will be between $258,750 and $362,250 per year.
