Per Diem
The Urgent Care Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient care in a fast‑paced urgent care environment by performing assessments, treatments, and procedures in accordance with established clinical protocols and provider direction. The RN functions as a clinical support professional who identifies changes in patient condition, communicates findings to the treating provider, and implements ordered care. This role focuses on safe execution of nursing skills, patient monitoring, documentation accuracy, and collaboration with the care team to support efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience. Clinical competency oversight is maintained through the organization’s clinical leadership and quality programs while daily operational supervision is provided by the Regional Operations Manager.
Qualifications
Required: Active RN license in good standing
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of clinical nursing experience in emergency department, or critical care nursing strongly preferred
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS certification
Skills: Strong critical thinking, quick decision-making, crisis management, and the ability to work under high pressure; proficient in IV insertion (all ages), indwelling urethral catheter placement (Foley, Coudé), IV fluid and medication administration, Medication administration and patient monitoring
Proficiency in splinting, wound care, suture removal, and assisting with minor procedures
Experience with point-of-care testing (POCT)
Experience with phlebotomy
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Clinical Judgment: Ability to assess and respond to medical emergencies effectively
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills
Teamwork: Collaborates effectively with emergency and healthcare teams
Technology: Familiarity with medical equipment and electronic documentation
Compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA and EMS regulations
Empathy: Demonstrates compassion and professionalism in patient care
Time Management: Manages multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Problem-Solving: Proactively addresses challenges in emergency settings
Additional Requirements
Demonstrated competency in Electrocardiogram (EKG) testing and Venipuncture procedures
Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work<
