Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3879.00 - $6134.00/month 

  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position. 
  • Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics and Deputy AD, this position is responsible for corporate administrative support functions for the Department of Athletics and Intercollegiate Services and is a highly organized, detail-oriented leader who provides critical operational and strategic support to the Director of Athletics and Deputy Athletic Director.  This position is also responsible for a broad range of highly sensitive and confidential general administrative duties for the Director of Athletics, Deputy AD and Senior Leadership Team.

The position provides a wide range of executive-level support and operational duties of broad scope and complexity requiring professional ability, organizational skills, mature judgement and knowledge of the Department of Athletics and Intercollegiate Service Areas. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. They must demonstrate strong leadership, discretion, and an ability to foster collaboration across all levels of the department while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

This position oversees the daily office operations, guest speaking appearances, calendar event planning, and all administrative related activities and services provided by the Office of the Director of Athletics. This role on occasion can be the delegated authority to communicate with other key constituents on behalf of the AD and the Office of the Director of Athletics.

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in high-level administrative support, event coordination, and operations management.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget oversight, expense tracking, and financial planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing professional reports and presentations.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • General knowledge and skills in office management and administrative support functions, with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to utilize office equipment and technologies including competent computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and Google
  • Thorough knowledge of correct English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Demonstrated ability to use considerable judgement and discretion.
  • Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications.
  • Ingenuity in determining methods to achieve working knowledge of and ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the athletic programs.
  • Skill in research, development and evaluation of polices and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business administration, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in athletics, executive support, or a related operational leadership role.
