Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Neurosurgery team. This APP will collaborate with Neurosurgeons in the ambulatory setting, seeing patients both alongside faculty and independently. The Neurosurgery department is a close-knit team of 8 surgeons and 10 APPs dedicated to exceptional patient care. This new APP role will help strengthen this team-focused, high-accountability group. The position involves a mix of patient care responsibilities and administrative duties, offering a well-rounded and fulfilling professional experience.

Monday - Friday
8am - 5pm
No weekends, holidays, or on-call

Duties: APP Surgical Care - Neurosurgery
Provide comprehensive care to adult and pediatric patients and families with neurosurgical conditions including neurodegenerative spine disease; minimally invasive spine interventions; chronic pain interventions; spinal cord stimulators; stroke; aneurysms, vascular malformations; traumatic brain injuries; spine and spinal cord injuries; brain and spinal tumors; hydrocephalus/shunt management; epilepsy; functional neurosurgery; movement disorders; peripheral nerve stimulators; and evaluate pertinent urgent and emergent inpatient and ambulatory neurosurgical interventions. Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient responses in collaboration with a designated supervising physician. Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic medical and/or surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner
• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
• Minimum of two years RN experience or equivalent combination of RN and nurse practitioner experience combined (two years of RN experience equals one year of APRN experience) required.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or current compact state required.
• Currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) required.
• Appropriate certification required based on position, department and population served:
Adult Inpatient
Adult Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP-BC);
Adult (ANP-BC);
Family (FNP-BC) - will be required to obtain post graduate certificate for AGACNP-BC within 3 years of hire or transfer date
Adult Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC) -will be required to obtain post graduate certificate for AGACNP-BC within 3 years of hire or transfer date
Adult Outpatient:

Physician Assistant
• Master’s degree from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program OR bachelor’s degree with ten years of current active Physician Assistant experience and approval from the Director of the Office of Advanced Practice OR if bachelor’s degree with less than ten years current active experience sign a written agreement consenting to obtain a Master’s degree from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program withi
