Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%

These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Job

The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries and maintaining the Company’s general ledger and third-party transactions, assisting in the designing controls for the Company’s SOX program. Responsible for ad-hoc accounting, internal controls, and regulatory/compliance, and technical research and analyzing accruals and performing reconciliations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, and process documents
  • Review journal entries to properly account for general ledger
  • Responsible for monthly accounting close for loan accounting
  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly analytical review for loan accounting
  • Compile quarterly financial reporting packages
  • Prepare or review regulatory reports for the bank
  • Prepare/review reconciliations for general ledger accounts and roll-forward schedules
  • Assist in integration and automation of financial applications
  • Review SOX documentation for accounting and provide best practice guidance
  • Provide information and documents to internal auditors, external auditors, and regulators
  • Coordinate and gather support for complex accounting projects and reporting initiatives
  • Train and mentor Junior Staff Accountants and Interns

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years' public accounting or  4+ industry
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
  • Highly detailed oriented and organized
  • Proficiency with use of e-mail, Internet, database, process mapping and presentation software
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, V-lookups, sum ifs and data manipulation
  • Maintains confidentiality and complies with privacy legislation
