About the Role

The Principal Associate, Communications role is a critical position responsible for both the hands-on execution of internal communications and the strategic coordination of content across multiple organizations. You will own the process for managing a cohesive editorial calendar and story repository, working closely with lead communicators to ensure messages are strategically timed and aligned for each audience group. You will be a key driver of the internal news engine and the collaborative process to maintain it. This role is perfect for a master organizer who is also a compelling writer and effective partner to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of the internal editorial calendar and repository, serving as the central point for managing the stories and timing of multiple organizational newsletters.

  • Collaborate with multiple communications managers to develop and produce a wide range of written communications for their respective organizations within the Retail Bank - maintaining consistency, tone, and accuracy across various internal written materials.

  • Act as a strategic consultant on content timing and delivery, advising on how to best leverage internal channels like email, Slack, and the intranet for maximum impact.

  • Own the end-to-end production of monthly newsletters for various Retail Bank organizations and businesses, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and engaging.

  • Write and publish internal intranet articles that highlight buzzworthy projects, key initiatives, and compelling content across the Retail Bank.

  • Manage and produce a weekly Slack newsletter, syndicating content across various organizational Slack channels to ensure broad reach and engagement.

  • Develop presentational and written materials to support seasonal communication initiatives for Retail Bank organizations, such as Associate Appreciation Week, promotion announcements, and updates regarding office space changes.

  • Provide occasional support for crafting announcements related to team structure changes, ensuring clarity and sensitivity.

  • Manage and maintain accurate distribution lists for various client groups to ensure effective and targeted communication delivery.

  • Utilize existing tools to track and analyze the metrics and performance of written communications, leveraging insights to recommend continuous improvements.

  • Build and maintain efficient processes that foster seamless collaboration across multiple stakeholders and contributors.

Requirements

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise, and engaging messages for various audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and a process-oriented mindset, with experience building and maintaining collaborative workflows.

  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and projects effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally with executives, adapting messaging to different leadership voices and preferences.

  • Excels at writing with a lively and approachable voice, ensuring internal communications are not just informative but also enjoyable and easy to read.

  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, error-free content.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in an internal communications role
