Appraiser I (Underfill) -> Salary, Range 11 Steps 1-8 $19.13 - $23.54/hr. 
Appraiser I -> Salary, Range 12 Steps 1-8 $20.09 - $24.71/hr.
Appraiser II -> Salary, Range 15 Steps 1-8 $23.26 - $28.61/hr. 

  • Monday - Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Weekends and holidays off.
  • Work will be both office and field environments.
  • Some traveling to other Mohave County locations: Bullhead City, AZ and Lake Havasu City, AZ.
  • Travel to conferences that are primarily in state with additional conferences out of state including but not limited to Phoenix and Tucson.
  • Travel will include one-on-one field training and training to obtain Appraiser certifications.   


Must be able to travel throughout different county locations. Working conditions would include but not limited to:

  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including strong winds, extreme heat to extreme cold temperatures.
  • This position does require time spent standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • The ability to frequently be able to lift 1lb up to 50lbs. 
  • Work does require traveling to perform inspections sites and investigations while operating a Mohave County provided vehicle in isolated and remote areas.

Examples of duties

  • An employee of this class is responsible for collecting and analyzing data pertinent to the appraisal of real and personal property improvements and new constructions for the determination of tax assessment values.  Certified Level II Appraisers are qualified to appraise all types of locally assessed land and improvements, including complex commercial/industrial properties and centrally valued properties at an equivalent level of responsibility (depending upon assignment by immediate supervisor and/or higher level of authority).
  • Collects pertinent county, city, neighborhood, site, and improvement data relative to property value, such as economic and market conditions, descriptions of neighborhoods including property price ranges, income ranges, land descriptions, area size, availability of utilities, restrictions, improvement design and related data.
  • Reviews and interprets legal descriptions, maps, plats, building sketches, and other descriptive materials.
  • Demonstrates a full understanding of and ability to utilize Computer Generated Mass Appraisal software.
  • Develops value analyses through cost, income, and market appraisal techniques including assessments of comparable recent sales of property, building costs, depreciation, income, and related factors.
  • Measures and draws property to scale.
  • Calculates square footage and perimeters of property.
  • Classifies and grades assessment of property.
  • Prepares and presents appraisals in the administrative appeal process using commonly accepted valuation methods, including market, income, and cost approaches to value.  Residential, land or commercial appraisals may be prepared for presentation at the Assessor, Board of Equalization and Tax Court levels of appeal.
  • Meets with property owners to explain and outline specifically the taxation methods and procedures utilized in property assessment of the individual's property if petitioned or questioned.  Communicates with the public on such
