Our internships are rooted in individual growth, professional development, business exposure and project ownership. Interns primarily spend their time focused on their assigned area of the business. Throughout the summer, intern program managers will host a variety of development focused activities to enhance professional development, provide exposure to all aspects of our business, and engagement events with fellow interns.

Program Summary: 

• Duration: 11 weeks, Summer 2026 Dates: June 1st – August 14th

About the Role 

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Data & AI Engineer Intern to support our Digital Engineering team. This role offers hands-on experience enhancing a Python-based tool that integrates data from multiple systems and applies AI to generate meaningful summaries and insights. 

What You’ll Do 

• Build and enhance Python applications that connect to multiple systems via APIs 

• Collect, process, and structure data from diverse sources 

• Support AI-driven summarization and insight generation 

• Collaborate with engineering leaders and contribute to a core summer project 

What We’re Looking For 

• Able to work hybrid schedule in Marlborough, MA. Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. 

• Strong Python programming skills (required) 

• Knowledge of APIs and data integration 

• Interest in data engineering, AI, or applied analytics 

• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills 

• Curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
