Job Description

Eurofins Environmental Testing Southwest is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Tustin, CA.  This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to environmental testing and protecting the environment.

Previous laboratory or science experience is not required.  We are especially interested in candidates with experience in fast paced, production oriented, or hands on work environments who take pride in doing quality work and following established procedures.

The successful candidate will be trained to perform laboratory sample preparation on water, soil and aquatic tissue samples, using established methods and procedures.  This role requires someone who can work efficiently, maintain accurate records, safely handle samples and laboratory materials, and consistently meet deadlines and quality requirements.

 

Laboratory Technician Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive, retrieve, and prepare water, soil and aquatic tissue samples.
  • Evaluate workload and prioritize samples based on holding times and due dates.
  • Document sample preparation details, observations, and results accurately.
  • Prepare reagents and standards for daily use.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Perform routine laboratory duties while following environmental health and safety policies.
  • Wash and maintain laboratory glassware as needed.
  • Communicate with department managers, analytical teams, and project managers regarding job status, rush requests, sample issues, holding times, and/or other concerns.
  • Work efficiently to meet turnaround times and production goals.
  • Follow all laboratory SOPs, quality requirements, and company policies.
  • Learn and perform new techniques and procedures as training is provided.
  • Assist with other laboratory activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, hands on environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and handle laboratory samples and materials as required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
